A Place to Heal

Beginning with a Healing Garden designed for the NHS, this project explores the healing ability of nature and plants. We took the bed out and spoke with people along the way about the benefits of nature, and how this can have some positive effects on mental health as well as physical health too. The photographs included here illustrate how our surroundings can affect our ability to heal.

  • “Patients can come down to the courtyard to feel the fresh air and see the sky, to smell the plants and hear birdsong. That is very special. These positive experiences will help them on their individual pathways to recovery.”

I jumped at the opportunity to make a difference in a tangible way. Explore further
